About Caloundra Junior Rugby Union Club

Welcome to the Caloundra Junior Rugby Union Club. The Caloundra Lighthouses was first established in 1982 and has grown into what is now known as an admired and recognised contributor to the local sporting community.

Our club is located in the heart of Caloundra on the beautiful Sunshine Coast and is central to many other sporting facilities and the Caloundra business precinct. We compete in age groups from U6’s through to our Junior Colts U16/17’s on Friday evenings and Saturdays.

With well over 200 registered players, our numbers are increasing every year and we take pride in the growing support we receive from our local community. We were presented with many challenges during the 2022 season but were lucky enough to still enjoy a season of great rugby, albeit a little later and hotter playing conditions than we were used to.

As we look forward to the 2024 season we hope to once again welcome other clubs, touring teams from across the state and hopefully interstate to our amazing facilities at Caloundra. Our club has developed a high standard on all levels of coaching and provides good quality education and training for our wonderful volunteer coaches.

This ensures each player continues to enjoy playing rugby union, learning appropriate techniques and skills from qualified coaches and develop an understanding of the discipline of the game. We have a strong volunteer base consisting of many families, supporters, coaches, managers, trainers, and young gun referees that help maintain our club’s good reputation.

The continued support from our sponsors envelops the commitment they provide for the purpose of fun and fitness for all kids in the community. Our mission is to continue our strong bond with the local community and to develop healthy young people physically and socially within our club. We recognise each child as an individual and emphasise the need to have fun.
